Magna Carta 800th Anniversary Film

Documentary Animation

Things got medieval – specifically, 13th Century – with this project for The Society of Antiquaries of London as part of their ‘Magna Carta Through The Ages’ exhibition. The show was held at the historic Burlington House, home of the Royal Academy, and was one of a series of events celebrating the 800th anniversary of the 1215 Magna Carta agreement.
Magna Carta was one of the earliest steps towards common law and human rights, and inspired the US Constitution and the Bill Of Rights. Our treatment of the story is a modern take on the flowing lines, intricate detail and strange perspectives of medieval illustration.
